What Do Teachers Really Want for Christmas?

The Christmas season is here!  My school only has 12 more days until Christmas break, and I’m so excited!  I don’t know about you but I’m ready for sleep late days, that’s what my son and I call them. Time to drink my coffee by the fireplace while catching up on Hallmark Christmas movies.  It really is my favorite holiday. what-do-teachers-really-want-for-christmas-3

With that being said it is also the time of year for giving.  I don’t know about you but I love to give to those I love.  Sometimes it can be difficult to pick the right gift for everyone on your list.  Have you thought about what your child’s teacher may want?  I’ll be the first to tell you I don’t expect to receive any gifts from my kiddos, but it is very sweet when they do think of me. I have come up with a list of the things I’ve received over the years that I’ve loved.

Christmas Ornaments

Number 1 is probably one of my favorite gifts to receive a Christmas Ornament. This is always my go-to gifts for just about everyone.  I love getting new ornaments to add to my tree each year.  Every year when they pull out that special ornament you picked out just for them they will remember your child.  How precious is that? This is the one gift my son gives his teachers each year.what-teachers-really-want-for-christmas-4.jpg

Planners

Number 2 on the list are planners. I love my planners.  Yes, I said planners because I have two of them.  Oh my, I know. I have a lesson planner and a life planner.  My Erin Condren planners are fabulous, and I use them every day.  They are pricey so even a gift card would be a great gift because it would help cover part of the cost.  We are almost in the new year and if you have a planning type teacher she will need a new planner for the new year.what-do-teachers-really-wnat-for-christmas-1

Astrobright Paper

Number 3 on the list anything Astrobright!  We, teachers, love Astrobright cardstock and paper.  For me this is usually something I purchase out of the “House Fund”, I tell my kiddos the House Fund means I bought it with my personal money, not school money.  I use cardstock all the time for center games, and craft projects.  I use the copy paper to send home special notes. The bright colors are perfect for grabbing parents attention and they just make my teacher’s heart smile.

Gift Cards

Number 4 is GIFT CARDS!  Who doesn’t love a gift card?  They are the perfect present because you can buy a gift card for almost anything.  Amazon, restaurants, coffee, massages, manicure or pedicure, or even car washes.  The other reason I love gift cards is you can buy them almost anywhere now, even in your pj’s on your iPhone.  Not sure what type of gift card get them a visa or master cards gift card would be a great option so they can decide what they really Need the most.

Journal

Number 5 on the list is a journal.  Maybe the special teacher you are shopping for enjoys journaling.  I personally have just started a daily journal of things I grateful for, and dreams I’m working towards reaching. The great thing about this gift is they are everywhere and they are very inexpensive.  So make a list of things they like and find a journal that matches their personality.what-do-teachers-really-want-fir-christmas.jpg

Blanket

Number 6 a cozy blanket.  Sound strange? Ok, picture this it is recess time and it is a nice chilly 40 degrees.  I promise any teacher would love to have a small blanket to take out to the playground to stay nice and toasty.  Fleece blankets are very inexpensive and you can attach a cute tag that says, cozy up with this during those chilly recess days.

Snacks

Number 7 on the list are snacks or candy.  We, teachers, love food.  I always have a stash of food by my desk.  I keep bottled water, chips, and chocolate.

Pens

Number 8 on the list is pens! I love a flair pen.  I use them when writing lesson plans, and grading papers.  Sharpies are also a great option, we use them for sentence strips and labeling all things in the classroom all the time.  You never seem to have enough pens or sharpies.  Find out what your child’s teacher loves and pick up a pack and tie a cute bow around them.  Trust me they will love it!what -do-teachers-really-want-for-christmas-2

I am sure with this list you can find something for that special teacher on your list.   Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
